BlogEngine.NET 1.3 Released

BlogEngine.NET 1.3 was released just before Christmas. This version supports Mono on Linux out of the box, so if you've been waiting to try it on Linux, I would suggest you try it right away!

If you are about to run on Linux, I would suggest that you get the latest sources as there were a few late fixes for the new Extension Manager on Mono. You need to get version 1.3.0.1 or later. As for Mono, you also need to get the latest version (1.2.6 as of writing), as the latest release has some major performance enhancements that are required for a stable Mono/BlogEngine.NET environment. Not a bad idea Phil. Although I suspect I'll do an HTML instruction page first, as Linux installations tend to be easier on the command line, and there isn't much to be seen there.

Command line instructions would be of great help to me. I'm very familiar with Mono on Linux, but not with the XSP web server, or mod_mono component.

Well you're in luck, I'm busy documenting the whole process as we speak Smile

Starting from a clean Mono 1.2.6 installation on an Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon installation. Believe it or not, but getting that right is actually the hardest part of the installation. I'll let you know once the page is up!
